C'mon in!

I figured I'd let y'all hear some music I wrote and recorded with my 'mates during my time in Hollywood. Once upon a time I was a speed metal guitarist, and a rather hairy one at that. Those days are long gone. The song on this page was written on Lanewood Ave- right behind the Roosevelt Hotel- in the tourist section of Hollywood. The year was 1992, and in Los Angeles grunge was just beginning to make it's mark. There were lots of confused glam bands with spiked hair, make-up, and flannel shirts... seriously. This song was the title song of a demo that only got released as a cassette, and only 50 copies at that- several copies of which found their way to some folks whom you'd might not expect. Michael Sembello (Flashdance guy), Jennifer Batten (Michael Jackson) "loved it", and a few record companies that were "not interested at this time".

This song features myself on guitar, bass, and "announcer guy". Mike Bullock (now a respected comic book author) on vox  and Jim "Jimbo" Chaney- drummer for '90's faves Jimmy's Chickenshack and who is now reportedly a music producer in L.A.  You are listening to the second take. Guitar,  drums and vocals were recorded together. Actual tape. Straight through, no splicing (bass, lead, and my speaking voice added subsequently)- long before ProTools and easy editing. So... there you have it- it's also a free download. Enjoy.
