Pat Bohan
"That boy got stuff to tell y'all"...

Here's the latest and greatest in the news department...

Update!- Writing and recording have resumed on my first solo album- "Taking Back Chicago", which I started writing in Chicago in 2005, but has roots going as far back as 1994.  Official recording begins in fall 2010 just after  The Dearest sessions wrap up. A dry demo preview of the instrumental "Seven Breaths" will be available on patbohan.com on September 11th, 2010. You can also catch me solo or with friends in the PDX region.

New! Welcome to the 12x12... the story of the documentary of the diary of the making of "Taking Back Chicago"... in realtime. ish. Read the first entry and play the test recording of the new microphone  I'll be using (Blue Yeti). Two unrehearsed tracks... one take each. The doorway to the 12x12 is here.

Steelbridge Songfest 2010 has celebrated another successful year in lovely Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin this June. You can hear Pat Bohan and Adam Mackintosh (among others) on "Steel Bridge Songs" recorded during SBSF5 in June 2009. The Last Dancers and The Dearest were among many performances at this years event. Click here to learn more.

A big hello to all the fine folks at our Last Dancers shows in Los Angeles  in early April. L.A. was once home to me many moons ago, and it's always fun to get back there and noodle gleefully about. Big thanks to Greg Eklund (Everclear, The Oohlas, Storm Large) and David Graham (you name it, he's done it) for providing the flawless drum-n-bass.

Another huge thanks to all who attended Dante's for the Storm Large/Eric McFadden show at Dante's in Portland on April 21st. It was an unexpected treat on my end- being asked by Eric to supply the bass for his set moments before I was to purchase tickets just so I could attend. My sincerest thanks and praise to Eric, Storm, James, Greg, Scotty, Steve, Jenny, Stephanie, Doug, and all at Dante's for yet another memorable time.

In February, The Dearest began recording a new compilation of songs by Adam Mackintosh and Anna Sacks. Recording began on Valentines Day and will resume later this summer. My guitar tracks will be on the recorded versions and live (schedule permitting), but you can catch a stellar version of The Dearest on YouTube in Los Angeles earlier this spring.
